Open several windows, side by side

Open two projects in separate windows, drag a tab out into its own window, and switch projects without losing your tabs. Plus faster chat switching.

Download Multilo

You can now work on more than one project at once, each in its own window.

Two projects, two windows

  • File → New Window (Ctrl+Shift+N, or ⌘⇧N on a Mac) opens an empty window.
  • In the project switcher, choose ⋮ → Open in New Window, or Ctrl/⌘-click a project.
  • Each window has its own project, tabs, files and chat. A project that is already open elsewhere is marked Other window, and picking it takes you there.
  • The Window menu lists your open windows. When you quit and reopen Multilo, every window comes back where it was.
  • Settings → General has Reopen windows and Open projects in a new window if you want to change how this works.

Move tabs between windows

  • Drag a tab out of the window and drop it anywhere to give it a window of its own. Drop it on another Multilo window to move it there.
  • Right-click a tab for Move into New Window, or to move it to another open window.
  • File → Open Recent lists your recent projects. Ctrl/⌘-click one to open it in a new window.

Each project keeps its tabs

Switching projects now puts away the tabs you had open and brings back the ones you left in the other project. Come back later and your files are open where you left them. If something isn't saved, Multilo asks first.

A file explorer that works from the keyboard

The file explorer now has the arrow keys, Shift-select, Home and End, and type-to-jump you know from other editors. Ctrl+Z (⌘Z) undoes a move, rename or delete, and dragging a file into another folder asks before it moves.

Also in this update

  • Switching chats is instant, even in long chats.
  • Review cards open on hover. Rest the pointer on an AI change in your document to see its card with Accept and Dismiss. Reject all now works after a rewrite too.
  • Approving a plan lets you choose how the work continues: in a new chat, with edits accepted automatically, or asking before each edit.
  • Copy under an answer now copies the answer itself, with any code blocks kept as code.
