Multilo now supports MCP, the Model Context Protocol: the open standard many apps use to offer their tools and data to AI assistants. Add a server and the assistant can use what it offers, whether that's a reference service, a notes app, a lab database or your own scripts.
Add a server in a few clicks
Open the chat box's + menu, choose Connectors, then MCP servers → Add server, and pick a type:
- URL — a service on the web. Paste the address the service gives you. If it needs you to sign in, a sign-in page opens in your browser.
- Command — a program on this computer. Enter the command that starts it.
Then choose where it applies: All projects, or This project only. A project-only server is saved with the project, so it travels with it.
Stay in charge
- A server must be approved before it runs, and you can Turn off a server or Sign out of a web service at any time.
- A project's own servers run only after you trust the project folder, and a project can't reuse an approval you gave somewhere else.
- Servers can offer ready-made MCP prompts, and can ask you questions while a task is running.
Before this
Adding a server meant editing a configuration file by hand, and only programs on your own computer were supported. Web services that need a sign-in weren't possible at all.
Good to know
MCP is a power-user feature. Only add servers from sources you trust, the same way you'd only install software you trust.
